Florida International University’s School of International and Public Affairs (SIPA) is a $40 million, five-story building that is an architectural showpiece for FIU and South Florida. SIPA is an integral part of the College of Arts and Sciences and centralizes many of FIU’s internationally oriented disciplines. It is an intellectual center for the school as well as those engaged in public affairs across the state and the nation. The 58,400-square-foot classroom and administrative complex houses the largest auditorium on campus with a seating capacity of 480. Waveguide provided audiovisual, infrastructure and acoustical consulting services for the auditorium and 10 other spaces including a boardroom, classrooms and labs. The auditorium, used for classes, lectures, films, seminars and special events, has high-definition video origination and recording capabilities as well as high-quality digital speech reinforcement, multi-channel surround playback and translation audio systems.
