Having struck out with the U.S. Green Building Council, the AV industry decided to create its own LEED-type sustainability certification process, known as the Sustainable Technology Environments Program (STEP). The program is overseen by the STEP Foundation and is currently being deployed on 10 pilot projects nationwide.
